P09Z001 Idle Patents Re-activation Project

Under collaboration agreement with the largest world-wide patent brokerage firm in Silicon Valley, we will help re-activate idle patent asset of Japanese technology and manufacturing companies which have long been negative to do so, taking advantage of world-wide concept shift on IP asset strategy.

Background

    We are experiencing world’s first “one global market” and simultaneously very fast development of technology to force rapid and frequent IP strategy focus changes and quick value erosion of many patents therefrom. More than 90% of patent asset of Japanese corporation is said to be off-mode. at the moment. In the same time, patent asset, usually considered to be attached to certain product and services as defensive tool in Japan, is recently re-structuring to become a sharp offensive tool in US. Japan has to change patent strategy for survival, on top of more efficient IT management.

Project Outline & Features

    PRIME INC. has made a collaboration agreement with the largest world-wide patent brokerage firm in Silicon Valley which is equipped with highly sophisticated patent assessment and marketing system for the purpose of effectively mobilize idle patent asset. In the same time this collaboration partner will guard Japanese clients from the shark created from the world-wide patent strategy concept changes. Therefore our first tactic is to sell Japanese patent to others.

What we want to accomplish

    1.Organize certain volume of “idle patents” from mainly TSE 1st Market companies and sell /license them in US and/or China through the collaborative partner company on behalf of the client companies.
    2.Advise and help the client patent holding companies to re-construct the patent management strategy to best suited to the new IP management trend.

Matters we expect from our Partner(s)

    At the moment, most of Japanese patent holding companies have many soft bellies---obsolete strategy and improper management structure. By nature, this project needs top management’s full understandings and support including corp. structure change, which can only be possible by our partners who know clients’ real picture and management’s gut feeling on patent.

Magnitude of the Project and Partners’ Compensation

    In the case of US, individual transactions range from $1MM to $100MM with success fee of a few %, out of which net income goes to each partner.
